Abstract   (366 Views)
Aims: The purpose of this research is to identify and evaluate the influential components of urban spaces in increasing the sense of belonging to the place in the public spaces of District 22.
Methodology: The current research is applied in terms of its research objective and analytical-descriptive in nature. The research strategy is inductive. Research data was collected using a questionnaire. The statistical population is residents of the 22nd district. The sample size using the Cochran formula is 387 samples.
Findings: According to the results of the model in AMOS, the relationship between the quality of public space and the sense of belonging is 0.824, indicating a very strong correlation between these two variables. This result indicates that the higher the quality of a public space, the greater the possibility of creating a sense of belonging to that space for users than other spaces. In examining the relationship between the sense of belonging and the components of public space quality, the strongest relationship is with the social component of public spaces. The most important result of this research is the weakness of the attachment component to place.
Conclusion: According to the results, attachment to place has a weak relationship with physical, social, and semantic components. In fact, in the public spaces of Area 22, a deep emotional connection between the individual and the place has not been established, and the public spaces lack meaning for the users.
