Abstract   (27 Views)
Aims: In recent years, urban crises occur with the demands of citizens and there is talk of "the right to the city". Today, due to social and political changes and developments, including the system of capitalist domination and the emergence of urban social movements, new interpretations of the right to the city have been made. Therefore, the aim of the current research is to modeling the approach of the right to the city in urban space (Case study: Yazd city).
Methodology: The research method is descriptive-analytical, and its type is applied. The information needed for the research has been collected in two documentary and field methods. The statistical population is 515,659 citizens of Yazd. The number of samples was estimated to be 325 based on Cochran's formula. SPSS software and t-test, structural modeling and Amos software were used for data analysis.
Finding: The results of the t-test showed that the status of the components of the right to the city (control and ownership, urban vitality and citizen participation) are in an unfavorable situation and below the normal level. The results of the Pearson correlation test indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between all dimensions of the research variables. Finally, the results of the structural model indicated that the participation index is more effective than other components in realizing the right to the city approach.
Conclusion: The components of the right to the city (control and ownership, urban vitality and citizen participation) are in an unfavorable situation. Therefore, the possibility of equal use of the city's capacities for all residents should be given special attention.
