 Analysis of the relationship between dust phenomenon and rural population changes in Sistan region
Abstract
Aims & Backgrounds: Dust storms are a phenomenon caused by weather conditions such as high wind speeds, dry air and bare and vulnerable soil to erosion. One of the most important areas affected by dust in other parts of Iran is the Sistan region in southeastern Iran. This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between dust and rural population changes in Sistan region (including 5 cities: Zabol, Helmand, Zahak, Nimroz and Hamoon) over the past 25 years (70-95).
Methodology: The research method is descriptive-analytical and the required data are collected by the library method using demographic statistics and satellite images. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analyzes including correlation coefficient test.
Findings: The results of comparing the growth rate of rural population in the study area and Sistan and Baluchestan province showed that in all 4 time periods (1991- 1996, 1996-2006, 2006-2011, and 2011-2016) the annual growth rate of rural population in the study area is significantly has been lower the annual growth rate of the provincechr(chr(chr(chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39')))39chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))))39chr(chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39')))39chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39')))))39chr(chr(chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39')))39chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))))39chr(chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39')))39chr(chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))39chr(chr('39')39chr('39'))))))s rural population. The results of the study also showed that there is a significant negative relationship between the average number of dusty days in the region in the 4 time periods studied and the average annual growth rate of rural population in rural areas.
Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the potential of population maintenance in the villages of Sistan region has more than anything to natural conditions, especially successive droughts in the region, one of the harmful consequences of which are sandstorms. O and the dust hanging in the air.
