Aims: Gender equality, as one of the factors affecting human development, indicates non-discrimination between women and men in society in terms of employment, education, health, social participation, etc. this study aimed to analyze the relationship between human development level with the degree of gender inequality and exploitation in provinces of Iran at 2009-2019.
Methodology: This study was conducted using the documentary-statistical method or in other words post-occurrence (secondary analysis) in 2022-2023. Data were collected using statistical yearbooks from 2009 and 2019. The statistical population was the provinces of Iran based on the political division in 2006. Independent variables in this study include settlement condition, population density (human resources), proximity to the capital, human development level, and GDP index (GDP), and dependent variables are and dependent variables are indicators of inequality and gender exploitation. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression tests through SPSS 22 software. The Pearson correlation test was used to measure the correlation between independent and dependent research variables. Multiple regression analysis was also used to determine the effective coefficient of human development indices on the degree of deprivation and gender exploitation.
Findings: Pearson correlation test results showed a significant relationship between the human development index, the proximity of different regions to the capital, population density (human resources), and type of geographical settlement with gender inequality and exploitation. Also, the results of the regression test indicate the coefficients of independent variables on the indices of inequality and gender exploitation in the studied provinces.
Conclusion: The results indicate the significant effect of human development indices on the promotion or weakness of gender inequality and exploitation in Iranian provinces.
