Abstract   (1067 Views)
Aims: Scientific research journals are one of the main and most reputable bases for presenting the scientific achievements. This study aimed to investigate the adequacy of the use of climatic data and the variety of common methods in climate-related architectural studies and to review studies in the field of climate zoning and the diversity of case studies to meet the need for research of climatic architecture.
Methodology: This applied research was carried out in 2021-2022 on 101 and 51 scientific-research articles in climatic architecture and climatic zoning, respectively which were published in Iran from 2001 to 2021. The methodology was content analysis. Data were collected using the library, review of written documents, also search in the index of internal publications using the keywords "climate" and "climatology". The data collection tool was a coding paper. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and descriptive statistics through SPSS 25 software.
Findings: The descriptive method was used in 45.54% of climatic architecture studies, and quantitative-qualitative descriptive description was used in 11.88%. The frequency of climatic architecture studies in 2001-99 in hot and dry areas was 45%. While, 47% of climatic zoning studies were conducted in northwestern and northern Iran with cold, temperate, and humid climates. Climatic zoning using the combination of climatic elements was the most common (27.77%), and then the Copenhagen method was used as an effective method in climatic zoning (16.22%).
Conclusion: Climatic zoning in studies published in 2001-2020 is not sufficient to meet the needs of researchers in the field of climatic architecture, especially in hot and dry temperate and in provinces with high building density, including Tehran
