Environmental Aspects of Aras River Environmental Pollution

Aims & Backgrounds: The purpose of this study is to investigate the environmental dimensions associated with Aras River pollution.
Methodology: Initially, the physicochemical properties of river water were measured in conjunction with industry. This research has been done in a practical way and through a survey method and through sampling and laboratory studies. Sampling was performed from early 1397 to mid-1398 and at selected stations. 3 water samples were taken at each station. Heavy metals were measured by an atomic absorption device. The concentration of nitrate, nitrite and TDS was measured with a spectrophotometer. Calcium, sodium and potassium concentrations were measured with Flame Photometer and the rest were measured with specialized devices. All sampling was repeated four times and the average number was announced for each station.
Findings: The results showed that the lowest electrical conductivity in the measured samples was 0.789 and the highest was 2.346 ds / m, indicating a high limit of soil and water for irrigation of plants. The total solids content of 1211 mg / l indicates a moderate limit for salinity. The average recorded pH is 8.17, which is within the national allowable range and standard of the World Health Organization. Nitrate and nitrite are above the allowable range. Potassium is in the standard range. Calcium, according to the obtained mean (64 mg / l) can be stated that this parameter is within the allowable and standard range. Lead (μg / l 0.09) is in the standard range. Cadmium (0.8 μg / l) is also within the allowable and standard range.
Conclusion: Entry of agricultural, industrial, and municipal wastewater upstream of the study area is the biggest threat to the low-lying environment.
